Would “Eurussia” be Possible?

Ready for a change? A long road ahead for the E.U. and Russia unite as a supra nation / state that would affect billions around the world in the future. However, the effort and duty would lie heavily upon the E.U. to shift the gear towards the initial step.

Since 1952 the formation of EEC, EC, and the E.U. today, it has member of 15 countries as of 1995 and population of 370 million people. It took nearly 50 years to integrate the Europe, one wonders how long would it take to include Russia. Nevertheless, the terms and conditions may not be on the equal scale for Russia as for the others, for there is more than enough that Russia can offer.

Russia, a huge land as many times of entire Europe in size owns sustainable resources that would feed its industrial needs and provide basic life support for its people for the longest time on earth on the self sufficient basis. For short, it does not need anyone’s help to survive.

On the other hand, the E.U. has members of formal imperialists who conquered other continents for their resources, and with records of engaging non-honorable wars and labor force abuses that are well known to the rest of the world. In conjunction with its lack of resources for survival, how would outsiders not to view the need/necessity of a “Eurussia” as an ambitious motivated aggression towards inland of North Asia that also has suitable climate that the Europeans favor. As The Rt Hon Chris Patten stated “We are after all a complicated and unique animal; and the nature of the beast is changing.” In his speech, can the good will of the union of Europe and Russia really be a good idea?

The “Eurussia” would hold three security-council seats in the United Nation, of which another supra nation but for all. Such a serious move to unite two continents that has a potential power in domination of the world through UN affairs should be dealt very carefully. We cannot afford a supranational war in between the “Eurussia” and the UN. While devolution can create conflicts, though the union of the super powers can create a threat to the region as well.

In conclusion, above all the arguments, Russia holds the key to the future for peace and prosperous “Eurussia” or perhaps the rest of the world. Russia also has the obligation in examining the E.U. and Russian relationship at heart. The “Eurussia” should provide a clear and promising picture to the rest of the world that it is a simple economic motivated political union for the safety of the rest of the region. After all, would “Eurussia” be possible?
